Our Story
Senyatanya's journey began with a simple conversation that highlighted a significant issue. One day, while speaking with a household helper, it became clear that her family struggled to access clean water despite living just outside Jakarta. This stark contrast between their proximity to the bustling city and their lack of basic necessities was startling. This revelation inspired the creation of Senyatanya Indonesia to address this hidden crisis affecting many urban families.
Context and Challenge
-
We started by conducting thorough research and reaching out to local communities and organizations to gather data on areas most affected by water scarcity. The findings were alarming: approximately 27 million Indonesians lack access to safe water, and around 70 million do not have access to improved sanitation. Despite their closeness to urban centers, many families lacked reliable access to clean water. This situation posed significant health risks and hindered their overall quality of life.
-
Jakarta, the bustling capital of Indonesia, is not immune to these challenges. Many urban poor communities in Jakarta do not have reliable access to clean water. Rapid urbanization and population growth have put immense pressure on the city's water infrastructure. Pollution of rivers and water sources exacerbates the scarcity of safe drinking water.
Understanding The Problem
Building Senyatanya
With a clear understanding of the problem, we established Senyatanya Indonesia. We gathered a team of passionate individuals dedicated to making a difference. Together, we developed a comprehensive approach that includes awareness campaigns, fundraising initiatives, and partnerships with local governments and NGOs.
Since our founding, Senyatanya has implemented numerous projects that have provided clean water to households around the capital city of Indonesia. Our efforts have led to significant improvements in health, education, and economic stability for many families.
Making a Difference
Raising Awareness
Our initial focus was on raising awareness about the urban water crisis. We launched campaigns through social media, community events, to educate the public about the challenges faced by urban families in accessing clean water. Our goal was to challenge the common perception that water scarcity only affects rural or remote areas
Looking Ahead
We continue to expand our reach and impact, driven by the belief that access to clean water is a fundamental right for all. Join us in our mission to bring clean water to every corner of Indonesia and create a brighter, healthier future for all.

Senyatanya is very selective in choosing beneficiaries, like the borewell assistance they provided in Patia, Kabupaten Pandeglang. Professional in every step of their humanitarian efforts.
